  1. I’m in search of print and cursive fonts that are lined. Any ideas where to get them? The fonts I found have different letter formations to what I want to teach my beginning writing children.

  2. Thank you very much! Your posts about the cursive handwriting help me a lot! I have a question though, what is the suitable pen for cursive writing to the beginner age ranging from 17-19? Thank you again!

    • @Shaff, thank you for your comment. Any smooth-flowing pen is fine. It is a personal preference – some people like a gel pen, some prefer a fine line, others look for a comfotable pen to hold. Just try out a few and see which is best for you.

  4. It is a lot harder to teach cursive than I would have thought! My two older kids were still in public school when this was taught. Now for my youngest! Oh dear! Boys are so different! Thanks for this wonderful website!

  5. G’day Nadene,

I am really glad i stumbled across your website!
I wasn’t really sure at what age to introduce my lil one to cursive writing, how to go about it, etc.. and found all the answers to my queries here!
The primary lines (red & blue).. took me back in the good ol’ days… 🙂

    Thank you so much!

  6. hi,
don’t know if I was doing something wrong but was printing out the templates for print with arrows and had to fiddle with the computer’s printing set-up margins, ect. So just wanted to put that out. After printing 4 times I finally printed out the correct template on legal paper but it didn’t fit it all on just one sheet. Had to print the x-y-z on a second legal sheet.

  7. This brings back so many happy memories… 🙂 I grew up in South Africa and this was how we learnt our handwriting. I currently live in Portugal and my 6 year old is learning cursive handwriting, so I thought about teaching him the way I was taught and came across your blog. LOVELY! Thank you so much for this. Take care! ❤ 🙂

  11. I’m using this to teach an 18 year old because they have stopped teaching this in school. I think it’s wonderful that you share this with people so that we have a resource for this information. Cursive writing is becoming a lost art form.
